Office 365 Archiving Meets SEC Rules

November 11, 2015

Microsoft has announced that Office 365 Exchange Online Archiving now meets SEC Rule 17a-14 requirements. This is great news if you are subject to industry-specific regulatory requirements for record keeping. As an example, broker-dealer, bank and financial organizations are subject to Rule 17a-4 issued by the Securities and Exchange Commissions (SEC) regarding the storage of electronic data. The SEC rule has specific requirements as to length, format, quality, availability, accountability and many other aspects of record retention.

The announcement about SEC compliance adds to the other Microsoft Office 365 compliance and certifications including ISO 27018, HITRUST, PCI DSS, ISO 27001, HIPAA and many more.
