Clio Announces New Features
October 21, 2015
Thanks to our friend and colleague, Bob Ambrogi, for summarizing the recent announcement at Clio’s annual conference in Chicago. As Bob reports, there are two new features:
- Campaign Tracker, a marketing tool that enables firms to track return on investment for any advertising campaigns that include either a phone number or a link to the firm’s website.
- Clio Payments, a credit-card processing system that is fully integrated into the Clio platform.
In addition to the new features, it was announced that there are additional integrations with third-party provider services. The new integrations include:
- Microsoft Office 365 Business
- Cloudmask
- CourtTrax
- Docket Alarm
- LegalNature Pro
- MyLegalReceptionist
- Ruby Receptionist
As cloud services continue to mature, our future seems destined to a subscription model with a constant outlay of money. It’s not just Clio. Microsoft is pushing hard to get you to subscribe to Office 365, Apple wants you to subscribe to Apple Music and Intuit keeps pushing QuickBooks online. Cloud applications may make sense for some firms, but I like knowing where my data is and not giving it to somebody else for marketing purposes.
