Seagate’s 8 Terabyte Monster Hard Drive

Wow! Seagate is shipping an eight terabyte hard disk. Yup, you heard that right. Eight terabytes. That’s one beast of a drive. There’s not much known about the actual specs. What is known is that it is a standard 3.5 inch drive with a 6 Gbit/s SATA interface. Supposedly, general availability will be in the next quarter. I still remember spending $1,000 for a 1 GB Fujitsu SCSI drive back in the day. I’m sure this 8 TB monster will be a lot less.
