Sexting Investigation Results in Charges at Colorado High School

June 23, 2022

A recent article by Sydney Isenberg, for Denver ABC 7, detailed the results of what started as an in house investigation by the Brush School District which has led to the arrest of two school administrators.

Back in May, the Police Department of Brush, Colorado served a search warrant at the Brush Secondary Campus, the town’s high school. The officers seized a number of devices that were forensically analyzed. The analysis located several of what were described as “Inappropriate photos of juvenile students”.

Police were tipped off about the images when the school attempted to work with the department while conducting a sexting investigation. However, when officers began to feel that people working with the school were holding back “pertinent information,” a warrant was issued according to the department.

Apparently, the photos had been collected during the school’s own investigation and uploaded to the district’s computer network. The school’s Assistant Director has been charged with four counts of sexual exploitation of a child and the Director of Secondary Education was charged with four counts of complicity to commit sexual exploitation of a child.

Police and forensic examiners are working to verify that all of the inappropriate photos are removed from the school’s computer systems.
