Salute to Rocket Matter for its Rocket Aid Charity Legal Tech Conference

It was an honor to join the faculty of Rocket Aid last Friday. The conference raised $22,000 for food banks and, for two days, presented all kinds of legal tech presentations given by many nationally known speakers.

The price to attend the two days was just $25 and there were a number of sponsors. Though many aspects of legal tech were discussed, there was a special emphasis on lawyers working remotely. Our own session was "Remote Technology Do's and Don'ts."

Approximately 500 attorneys attended the conference and the reviews afterward were exceptionally enthusiastic. Beyond the legal tech sessions, there were water coolers and lounges where you could talk to other attendees, sessions on wellness, yoga, etc. And there were happy hours! Did the tech hiccup once in a while? Of course. Tech gremlins are ever-present. But they actually made only a couple of appearances, so on the whole, the conference ran splendidly.

We have all found ourselves pushed into new ways of practicing law on a large scale in the last few weeks, so this conference was timely indeed. I don't yet have a link, but everything was recorded and will be posted online.

John and I are very proud of our friend Larry Port of Rocket Matter. He put this amazing conference together with blinding speed – and all for a good cause at that. Way to go Larry – you are the "Rocket Man" indeed.
