Another Day Another Phishing Scam

August 20, 2015

SC Magazine has reported that there is a targeted phishing scam that purports to come from E-ZPass. The targeted e-mail messages are going to residents in Maryland, Virginia and a dozen other states. The e-mail message says that you owe money on your E-ZPass account and should click a link to replenish it. The link takes you to a website that wants you to submit personal and financial information. In addition, malware could be installed to the users’ device. Bottom line…don’t click on any suspicious links and check your E-ZPass account balance first. Although, I wonder how many people will click on the link when they don’t even own an E-ZPass.
