Apple Announces iOS 11 and Leaves Out Five Most Requested Features
June 8, 2017
The big news this week was the Apple announcement of iOS 11 and all of its whiz-bang features. In my opinion, the BEST feature of iOS 11 is the enforcement of two-factor authentication. In fact, I received an e-mail messages that stated
If you install the iOS 11 or macOS High Sierra public betas this summer and meet the basic requirements, your Apple ID () will be automatically updated to use two-factor authentication. This is our most advanced, easy-to-use account security, and it's required to use some of the latest features of iOS, macOS, and iCloud.
What great news even though I already have two-factor authentication enabled on my Apple ID. However, Apple isn't going to implement five (5) of the most requested features by users as BGR reports. Those five items include:
- Dark Mode
- Multiple Account Support
- That Insanely Annoying Volume Pop-Up
- Default Apps
- Group FaceTime
I don't think you'll see number two for a long time to come. That would mean people wouldn't have to buy a lot more Apple products than they really need. Pretty crazy that you can't define a default app, which is a feature that's existed in other systems for decades.
