Mac Users Not Immune to Viruses Despite Past Beliefs

For years and years, Apple users have believed that Macs are so secure that they are immune to malware infection. Nothing could be further from the truth. While Mac computers are not as targeted as Windows machines, they are not immune. Security researchers have recently revealed that malicious macros in Word documents are now infecting Mac computers. If you are a Mac user, beware of a Word document named "U.S. Allies and Rivals Digest Trump's Victory – Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.docm." If you try to open the document, it prompts you to enable macros, which are disabled by default. It's not a very sophisticated malware attack, but the point is that Macs can be infected by malware just like Windows and Linux machines. If you are an Apple user, you should have security software installed and practice safe computing just like every other computer user.
