Mass Exodus from LastPass?

The latest news that LogMeIn has acquired LastPass has created a huge cry for alternative password managers. Should you feel uncomfortable with the recent news concerning LastPass then perhaps it is a good time to look for alternatives. VentureBeat identifies seven open source alternatives.

  3. KeePass
  4. Padlock
  5. Passopolis
  6. Password Safe
  7. RatticDB

Frankly, I prefer to pay for a commercially supported product that DOES NOT save the password vault to the cloud. Unfortunately, free is a word most users look for and they don’t necessarily consider the implications of giving your passwords to a third party. No matter what solution you select, make sure you do your research and understand the good and bad of your password manager selection.
