Microsoft Can’t Keep Windows 7 Secure

Yet again, another reason to move to Windows 10. In a recent blog post, Microsoft Germany blasted its own operating system. According to Microsoft Germany, Windows 7 is no longer suitable for business use. I guess they think it should be acceptable for home use with that kind of statement. Apparently, the design of Windows 7 can't be made secure, even with patches, which will continue to be distributed until January 2020. The post also states that "Windows 10 is the only version of Windows that offers support for the latest chips from Intel, AMD and Qualcomm."

Windows 10 is so secure that it can even block zero-day attacks without being patched, which further supports the migration to Windows 10. Microsoft researchers have found that two zero-day exploits it patched against in November wouldn't have worked on systems running the Windows 10 Anniversary Update anyway. The Windows Defender ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) team stated, "We saw how exploit-mitigation techniques in Windows 10 Anniversary Update, which was released months before these zero-day attacks, managed to neutralize not only the specific exploits but also their exploit methods." The problem with these types of statements is that users will believe they are totally protected by their technology and will do stupid things like clicking on links or opening attachments that they shouldn't open.
