No More IPv4 Addresses for North America
July 6, 2015
According to ars technica, there are no more IPv4 addresses available for North America. It’s been a long time coming. You can get smaller blocks of addresses from ARIN, but you’ll have to wait at least 90 days after your initial request to get any more. We’ve survived fairly well over the last couple of decades even with the threats of the sky falling when we run out of addresses. There’s no need to rush out and update your infrastructure for IPv6 addressing. I think we’ll survive just fine with our current equipment and NAT (Network Address Translation) configurations.
