No More SwiftKey Keyboard for iOS

September 29, 2022

The SwiftKey Keyboard is a predictive alternative keyboard for Android and iOS devices from Microsoft. According to a ZDNet report, Microsoft is phasing out support for SwiftKey on iOS devices. SwiftKey will no longer be available for installation from the Apple App Store on October 5, 2022. iOS users can continue to use SwiftKey if it is already installed, but don’t count on reinstallation if you remove it. For now, SwiftKey will continue to be available for Android devices. Microsoft isn’t saying why it is dropping SwiftKey for iOS.

Chris Wolfe, Director Product Management at SwiftKey said, “As of October 5, support for SwiftKey iOS will end and it will be delisted from the Apple App Store. Microsoft will continue support for SwiftKey Android as well as the underlying technology that powers the Windows touch keyboard. For those customers who have SwiftKey installed on iOS, it will continue to work until it is manually uninstalled or a user gets a new device.
