PDF Files and Excel – Happy Together

October 22, 2018

In the weird world of technology, you cannot import a PDF file into Excel. However, a file export can accomplish the same thing. You can export from Adobe Acrobat to Excel and export from Excel to Adobe Acrobat. PCWorld has the steps to follow.

From Excel, open a file and choose File, Export and then click the Create PDF/XPS button. The Publish as PDF screen appears where you can name the file and location for the PDF file. Click the Publish button and then File > Save As to complete the process.

To go from Acrobat to Excel, select Export To, Spreadsheet and then Microsoft Excel Workbook. When the Save As screen appears, make sure that the file type is Excel Workbook (.xlsx).
