Stop Using IE 8!

May 27, 2014

SC Magazine reports that the Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) disclosed an unpatched zero-day use-after-free remote code execution vulnerability affecting Internet Explorer 8. Apparently, Microsoft has yet to patch the vulnerability despite having the flaw initially reported over six months ago. The vulnerability enables an attacker to execute arbitrary code and gain current user rights on the compromised system.

Internet Explorer 8 first shipped with the Windows 7 operating system. You should have upgraded IE by now to at least version 9. In case you are not aware, the latest version of IE is version 11.
