Ticked Off at an Apple User? Send Them an Evil Text Message

January 18, 2018

A new bug has been discovered that can crash iOS and macOS devices. Graham Cluley reported that a Twitter user (@cheesecakeufo) revealed a link that can crash a macOS or iOS system with a single text message when opened in Apple's Messages app. The link sends you to a GitHub page. Apparently, the code really confuses your Apple device – to such a huge degree that Messages decides the best solution is just to crash. I'm sure there are several of you out there that will want to try this out on your friends and/or enemies, but you are responsible for any consequences. As Graham cautions, "…please don't be tempted to try the text bomb attack out on anyone else – you're not being funny, you're just being a jerk."
