Webroot Report – Windows 10 Better than Windows 7

March 27, 2018

If you are still running Windows 7, you are more likely to be infected with malware than if you were running Windows 10. It may sound like a marketing campaign, but it really is true. Independent studies have shown that Windows 10 is more immune to zero day attacks than Windows 7. Webroot has reported the results of its latest analysis and come up with two major items.

  • Only 15% of the total files determined to be malware in 2017 were seen on Windows 10 systems, while 63% were found on Windows 7 PCs
  • Among PCs used by businesses, there was an average of .04 malware files per Windows 10 device, half the .08 files per machine running Windows 7

Whether you are a Webroot fan or not, I think the results are consistent with other studies. Windows 10 is far better than Windows 7. Upgrade now.
