Wi-Fi Range Extender Ratings
December 14, 2021
As more and more people are working from home (at least a portion of the time), having a stable, consistent network is more important than ever. One relatively low cost alternative to extending your Wi-Fi range is to install a Wi-Fi range extender. Basically, a range extender connects to your current wireless network and then “boosts” the signal to cover more area. The Wi-Fi extender can help with dead zones or low signal strength for your Wi-Fi network. To help with your potential purchase, How-To Geek has a post with its recommendations for Wi-Fi range extenders. Various models from TP-Link are among the author’s favorites.
- TP-Link AC1750
- TP-Link AC750
- TP-Link AX1500
- Devolo Mesh WiFi 2 Kit
- NETGEAR Nighthawk EAX80
- TP-Link 2.4GHz N300
Just search Amazon for the various models listed. Wi-Fi extenders are a good alternative to improve your wireless network connectivity. My preference is to spend some more money and install a mesh network as the network name remains the same across all nodes. A Wi-Fi extender creates a new network name, but they are a lot cheaper than a mesh network.
