Google Chrome Hits Version 100
March 30, 2022
The version of Chrome is now three digits and hit the century mark. Bleeping Computer posted more details concerning what is included in the new release. There is a new icon for Chrome with some subtle changes. Frankly, I doubt you will notice the differences unless you lined up all the icons from past years. Google has been testing the three-digit user agent string for some time. Some websites have trouble with the additional digit, but developers are quick to respond with a fix. You should submit a report to Google, if you visit a website that breaks when using Chrome 100 or displays an unsupported browser version message.
In addition to the new icon, the Verge reported that Chrome 100 will remove “lite mode” from the Android app. It’s just a matter of time before all browsers will be sporting a three digit version number.
