Microsoft Renames Office 365

April 1, 2020

As if you aren't confused enough with Microsoft's licensing arrangements, Office 365 is no longer Office 365. Engadget reported that Office 365 will now be called Microsoft 365 and include more consumer focused features. The subscription price will be the same, but Microsoft will add the Family Safety app, which will help track your digital activity such as screentime. A new consumer subscription called "Microsoft 365 Personal and Family" will also be released. Parents will have control over content their children can view and monitor the apps and services they use. Scheduled to be released in the fall, consumers will also be able to add personal accounts to Teams so family members can collaborate.
