Microsoft Fixes Two Zero-Day Vulnerabilities

March 16, 2023

Well, it’s not Patch Tuesday today, but you should be updating your Microsoft environment (and other software too). Malwarebytes reported that Microsoft has released updates to fix two zero-day bugs. One update for CVE-2023-23397 fixes a critical Microsoft Outlook Elevation of Privilege (EoP) vulnerability. The other update for CVE-2023-24880 is a fix for a moderate Windows SmartScreen Security Feature Bypass vulnerability. Adobe, Fortinet and SAP released updates too to coincide with Microsoft’s release schedule.

No matter what software you use, periodically checking for and installing updates is a must. Don’t get sucked into the mentality that patches break things.
