Running Windows 10 on a Mac

September 9, 2019

Despite what Apple wants you to believe, the business world does not run on its products. Windows is still the most used operating system. More and more vendors are offering solutions to run their applications on a Mac, but there will still be times you need to have a Windows system available. One of the best decisions Apple ever made was using the Intel CPU to power the Mac. That decision means the hardware is also capable of running Windows. It's not that hard to get Windows running on a Mac and Tech Viral describes several ways to accomplish the task.

The first method is to use the free Boot Camp for Mac. The short version is you install Boot Camp and follow the prompts to create a separate disk area where Windows 10 will be installed. The other method is to use virtual machine software. Essentially this means that Windows runs as software on your Mac. Some popular virtualization products are VMware Fusion and VirtualBox. Parallels Desktop is another virtualization product that supports various versions of Windows.
