Galaxy S10: Hiding the Camera Hole

March 25, 2019

The Galaxy S10 is Samsung’s newest smartphone. It’s a beautiful device with an all glass curved display and fingerprint sensor under the glass. No button on the front taking up valuable screen real estate or awkward fingerprint sensor on the back next to the camera. One thing that does jump out at you is the selfie camera in the upper right corner of the screen. Depending on the model of S10, the camera will appear as a black hole or an elongated black hole as there are two selfie cameras.

It didn’t take long for folks to start complaining about the black hole. Some ingenious people began creating wallpapers that “hid” the hole by putting a black image around the area. The challenge is finding a wallpaper that you like which hides the hole. Not to worry. Chainfire has developed an app that puts all of the wallpapers in one place. It is appropriately called the Hidey Hole app. As stated by Android Police, “The idea is to create wallpapers for the Galaxy S10e, S10, and S10+ to incorporate the hole punch in some fashion. For example, by making the Galaxy S10e's camera into Kermit the Frog's eye.” Great idea.
