ABA 2022 Cybersecurity TechReport Available
November 30, 2022
For more than twenty years, the American Bar Association (ABA) has published its annual Legal Technology Survey Report. The report specifically surveys the legal profession spanning a range of topics from software, hardware, security, marketing, budgeting, and pretty much anything else dealing with technology and the practice of law. The survey is divided into five volumes, which are rather expensive ($1600 non-members or $1400 members). Each volume can be purchase separately ($350 non-members or $300 members), but a better first option is to access the free TechReport summaries available from the Legal Technology Resource Center.
I was honored to be asked to write this year’s recently released 2022 TechReport: Cybersecurity. The summary addresses survey results as they relate to:
- Technology Competency
- Technology Policies
- Security Defenses
- Security Assessments
- Cyber Insurance
- Security Breaches
- Prevention and Recovery
There are much more detailed results in Volume II: Technology Basics & Security. The 2022 Cybersecurity TechReport has plenty of good information to help readers see how other lawyers are reacting to our “new normal” in the cyber world.
