Amazon’s Eero Wi-Fi 6 Pricing and Models Announced

September 29, 2020

Earlier this month, we learned of the FCC filing for Wi-Fi 6 models of Eero. We now know how much the units will cost to upgrade to a Wi-Fi 6 mesh wireless network. CNET reported more details for the Eero 6 and Eero Pro 6 models. Eero CEO and co-founder Nick Weaver said, ""Customers need reliable home Wi-Fi now more than ever. Many of us are working from home, helping kids with online learning, keeping in touch with friends and family, and streaming and gaming in 4K — often at the same time. The Eero 6 series is the fastest Eero series yet, giving our customers the speed and reliability of Wi-Fi 6 at an affordable price."

The costs vary depending on the number of units and whether you go with the Pro model or not. A single dual-band Eero 6 unit is $129 and a single tri-band Eero Pro 6 will cost an extra hundred dollars. Most folks will probably opt for the dual unit Eero 6 package, which costs $199. That gets you dual-band operation for a Wi-Fi 6 network. You can always add an extender at a later date if you need a larger coverage range. At the high end, you can get a three pack of Eero Pro 6 for $599, which gets you an additional 5 GHz band for improved performance. Given the past record of the original Eero units, I don't think you can go wrong with either model to upgrade your current Wi-Fi network to support the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard.
