Change Your Kindle Lockscreen Image

April 19, 2021

It’s been a long time coming. According to a Gizmodo post, you can now elect to display the book cover for what you are reading as your Kindle lockscreen. You’ll need a relatively new Kindle to select the feature. It must be the ad free version too. Just go to Settings and then Device Options to see the Show Cover option. I guess I’ll need to contact Amazon support since I don’t see the option on my 10th generation Kindle Paperwhite.

Update: Amazon tech support said that the feature is currently being rolled out in India and Mexico. “It will be available in the coming weeks to customers globally on select without-ads Kindle devices.” Check back often to get the software update.
