Chrome Updates Speeds Page Loads by 10%

August 27, 2020

Most users have Chrome set as their default browser. BGR considers the recent update to be the biggest one of the year and Bleeping Computer reports a 10% speed improvement. The BGR post cites the speed improvement, but also identifies several other upgrades

One new feature is the ability to group tabs together. If you don't see the new feature after updating Chrome, you'll have to go to chrome://flags/ and navigate to the Tabs Group option. Change the selection from Default to Enabled. Relaunch the browser and you'll be able to right click on a tab and add it to a new or existing group. Another feature of the update is the ability to directly fill out a PDF form and save it. There are other improvements if you use Chrome on a mobile device or in tablet mode on a laptop.
