Fios Router Update

April 10, 2019

Verizon has issued an update for its Fios Quantum Gateway router. A Verizon spokesman stated, “We were recently made aware of three vulnerabilities related to login and password information on the Broadband Home Router Fios-G1100. As soon as we were made aware of these vulnerabilities, we took immediate action to remediate them and are issuing patches."

Your router should have been updated automatically, but here’s how to make sure. Login to your router and select the “System Monitoring” menu choice. Scroll down to the Model Name to verify you have a Fios-G1100 router, which is the impacted model. Check the Firmware Version. If the version is 02.02.00.13, you have the update and are good to go. If not, try restarting the router to see if it will pull down the update – otherwise you will have to contact tech support so they can manually push out the update.
