How to Allow Browser Pop-Ups

January 4, 2022

Let’s face it. Not all developers code websites with browser features in mind. Pop-Ups are a case in point. It drives me crazy when you visit a website and it doesn’t function properly because your browser is blocking pop-ups. There was a time when you were constantly bothered by marketing ads launching in a new pop-up window. The good news is that the browsers now will block pop-ups when you visit a website. The bad news is that a pop-up may be needed for the site to display some information you need.

If you really need to disable the pop-up blocker in your browser, How-To Geek has a post to walk you through the steps. The instructions cover how to disable the pop-up blocker in Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. Instead of allowing pop-ups for all sites, consider specifying only those sites that need pop-up enabled. It would be particularly helpful if the website developers didn’t require pop-ups to begin with.
