Linksys Releases Low Cost Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Router

June 17, 2020

Mesh routers are used to provide a more robust Wi-Fi network that covers a larger area than a nonmesh router. The additional coverage and speed comes at a cost. The starting cost for a mesh router system is hundreds of dollars and can approach a thousand or more. Engadget reported that Linksys announced a more affordable Wi-Fi 6 mesh router that starts at $150. The Max-Stream AX1800 Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Router MR7350 supports a speed of 1.8Gbps and a coverage area of around 1,700 square feet. It's a good option for a townhouse, smaller home or apartment. In order to keep the cost down, the MR7350 is only a dual band device with 5GHz and 2.4GHz networks. It does not support the new WiFi 6E connections in the 6GHz band.
