Microsoft Kicks Internet Explorer 11 to the Curb

December 1, 2020

We use analytics to monitor visitors to our website and users of our online divorce software so we have an indication of browser usage. Chrome is by far the most used browser. In contrast, there are only a handful of people still using Internet Explorer 11. Even Microsoft is pulling the plug. As reported by The Register, the Microsoft Teams app will no longer support Microsoft's own Internet Explorer 11. "Microsoft says that customers using IE 11 with Teams can expect either degraded capabilities or the inability to connect at all." That's a pretty definitive statement.

Pulling IE support for Teams is just the beginning. Microsoft has already scheduled August 17, 2021 as the abandonment of IE when Microsoft 365 apps and services will no longer support the legacy browser. If you are keen on sticking with a Microsoft browser, jump over to Edge.
