New Zero Day Flaw – Patch Your Apple Device Now
February 14, 2023
If you are an Apple user, an update was dropped yesterday that fixes a zero-day flaw in iOS, iPadOS, macOS and Safari. The Hacker News reported that the fix relates to a bug in the WebKit engine that can lead to arbitrary code execution. There is also a fix for macOS that plugs a privacy defect. Bottom line…patch now. The updates are available for the following Apple devices:
- iPhone 8 and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 5th generation and later, and iPad mini 5th generation and later
- Macs running macOS Ventura, macOS Big Sur, and macOS Monterey
Applying patches as quickly as possible is always a good practice. However, there are reports that updating to iOS 16.3.1 will break Google Photos. Google is working to resolve the problem. You can always use a different device to access your Google photos.
