Random USB Noises?

November 26, 2019

We've all been there. Every time you plug in a USB device Windows makes a sound to let you know something has been connected or disconnected. The connect/disconnect noise is essential when it comes to a USB device because it lets users know that Windows has detected external hardware. So what if a device is connected and you periodically hear the sound?

Tech Viral dives into the issue of random sounds for USB devices. The first step is to update the driver for your machine. Uninstall the device in device manager to force a reinstallation of the driver. Another option is to install a tool to give you better vision into the USB devices associated with your computer. USBDeview is a great tool to show you information about connected devices and even historical information about devices that have been connected in the past. Finally, you can just turn off the sound notifications by changing the program events for the speaker.
