Stop Windows 10 Annoying “Suggestions” A.K.A Ads

February 11, 2020

Microsoft calls it improving your experience, but I call it annoying advertisements. If you are a Firefox user, you've probably noticed a little callout in the Start menu suggesting that you use Microsoft's Edge browser instead. BGR has reported that some users are actively pissed at Microsoft pushing Edge.

It's pretty easy to disable the suggestions. Lifehacker gives you the steps to follow. Hit the Windows icon and then select the gear to bring up the Settings menu. Select Personalization and then the Start option. Turn off the "Show suggestions occasionally in Start."

Lifehacker also suggests unchecking the "Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows" setting under Notifications & actions in the System panel.
