Time to Jettison T-Mobile?

August 17, 2021

It’s not a good time to be a T-Mobile customer. The internet is blowing up with reports of the latest data breach experienced by T-Mobile. Motherboard was one of the first to report that cyber criminals are selling data supposedly from 100 million T-Mobile customers. “The data includes social security numbers, phone numbers, names, physical addresses, unique IMEI numbers, and driver licenses information, the seller said.” Being hacked is bad enough, but according to Android Police, this is the fourth data breach in as many years.

As if getting breached isn’t bad enough, Ars Technica reported that apparently T-Mobile lied to the government in order to get approval for the Sprint merger. Not a good day overall. Call me crazy, but I certainly wouldn’t want to associate with a company that can’t secure my data and has less than stellar ethics. Your choice. Fish or cut bait.
