Update Zoom Now!
May 25, 2022
Another day, another update. This time, the Register reported that Google Project Zero identified a Zoom bug where an attacker could utilize a chat message to “potentially execute malicious code on a victim’s device.” The vulnerability is classified as medium level severity. As the post states, “It affects Zoom Client for Meetings running on Android, iOS, Linux, macOS and Windows systems before version 5.10.0, and users should download the latest version of the software to protect against this arbitrary remote-code-execution vulnerability.”
As with all other software (operating systems and applications), you should install any updates as soon as they are available. Perhaps now is a good time to check your Zoom settings and make sure it is automatically updating using the “Fast” Update Channel.
