Windows 11 Users: Calendar and Mail Apps to be Retired

June 20, 2023

According to a Review Geek post, Microsoft has announced that the Mail and Calendar apps in Windows 11 will be replaced in 2024. The apps will be replaced with the web-based version of Outlook. Windows 11 users will soon be prompted to try Outlook. As part of the announcement, Microsoft stated that computers sold in 2024 will use Outlook for the mail and calendar functions. If you are not a big fan of Outlook, you can ignore the migration message and keep using Mail and Calendar apps. The apps will also be available in the Microsoft Store until 2025. After that, you won’t have the option to get them from the Microsoft Store. Perhaps now is the time to get a Microsoft 365 subscription if you don’t already have one.
