Zoom for Free All Thanksgiving Day

November 17, 2020

Don't have a paid Zoom subscription? Not a problem. Zoom is opening up its video chat service for everyone on Thanksgiving Day for free. No 40 minute limit. This means you can virtually get together with your family and friends all day long and not pay a cent. You may have some concerns if you have a data cap restriction with your ISP. Lifehacker has a post to help you determine how much bandwidth you may need. No matter how much capacity you get with your ISP, Zoom is limiting regular users' group chats of three or more participants to High Quality video only.

Zoom announced the Thanksgiving offer in a Tweet. "As a thank you to our customers, we will be lifting the 40-minute limit for all meetings globally from midnight ET on Nov. 26 through 6 a.m. ET on Nov. 27 so your family gatherings don't get cut short. #ZoomTogether."
